The working principle of the scraper conveyor

When the inclined scraper conveyor is in horizontal transportation, the materials are subjected to the pressure of the scraper chain in the direction of movement and the weight of the materials themselves. This generates internal friction between the materials, which ensures the stable state of the material layer and is sufficient to overcome the external friction force generated by the movement of the materials in the conveyor trough. Thus, the materials form a continuous and integrated material flow and are transported.

When the inclined scraper conveyor is in vertical ascent, the materials are subjected to the pressure of the scraper chain in the direction of movement. In the materials, there is a lateral pressure in the horizontal direction, forming internal friction. At the same time, due to the continuous feeding in the lower horizontal section, the lower materials successively exert a pushing force on the upper materials. This friction force and the pushing force are sufficient to overcome the external friction resistance and the weight of the materials in the conveyor trough, enabling the materials to form a continuous and integrated material flow and be ascended.
